No, Tallahassee is NOT getting a Dave & Buster's (yet)

The people of Tallahassee have seemingly been asking for a Dave & Buster's location for years--and for a brief moment on Tuesday, it appeared our prayers may have been answered. A Facebook post from an account called "Governor's Square Mall" began making the rounds with Tallahassee area users, stating that a new Dave & Buster's location would be opening in the latter half of 2024. If you've been following the saga of our Governor's Square Mall, you'll know that Sears closed several months ago and remains vacant. And most recently, Macy's announced their impending closure. A new Dave & Buster's location would be a boon to a mall that recently suffered a 1-2 punch of losing two anchor stores.

Alas, this tale does not have a happy end for us in Tallahassee. Eagle-eyed users were quick to point out that the "Governor's Square Mall" in the now viral post, was actually a mall located in Clarksville, TN. The fact that this mall shares the same name as our location in Tallahassee understandably led to the confusion--an unfortunate but amusing coincidence. Users from the Tallahassee area were quick to note their disappointment.

"This is in Tennessee smh, not Tallahassee :(", one user wrote.

"But we NEED this in TALLAHASSEE!", another declared.

Fans of the popular "barcade" franchise will have to wait a little bit longer, as there are currently no plans to bring a location to our city. But good news for the people of Clarksville, TN at least.
