The Burmese Python population has gotten out of hand here in Florida.
Since there are no natural predators of the python here, they have managed to decimate many species and are even consuming 10 foot alligators!
Because of this, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commision is announcing the 2013 Python Challenge.
$1,500 goes to the hunter with the most pythons, and $1000 goes to the hunter with the longest python.
Before you just start shooting, know that there is a $25 entrance fee and a 30 minute online trainging course that you must complete before you can compete.
